PASTORAL CARE MINISTRY

This ministry is unique to the many other ministries we have here at Spring Baptist. The reason is that it touches ALL ages, ministries, genders, etc. We do our best to keep up with the hospital visitation. Nowadays pastors cannot do it all.  So we rely on volunteers to help visit the ill and bed ridden as well as ministering to the widows and widowers. We work with the bereaved. We assist the families with funeral plans.

We oversee the Prayer ministry of SBC which is Living In Faith Everyday (LIFE). This ministry covers every member, every ministry, every age group, every minister, and  missions, both at home and abroad. It is all inclusive and any member can participate whether young or old.

Our Church Library is a blessing to all. We have books and videos for the very young and for those more mature in the Lord. It is an adventure to see what our Librarians have done in the area of children’s books, devotional reading and one of the largest Biblical reference libraries anywhere. Take a moment and visit. Pick out a book and join us.

The Pastoral Care Ministry is also responsible for counseling. All ministers here at SBC do one form of counseling or another. But the Pastoral Care Ministry does Biblical based pastoral counseling, marriage counseling, pre-marital counseling and just about any issue that we face as Christians. We help support a local Pregnancy Assistance Center .

The Pastoral Care Ministry oversees the Benevolence Ministry of SBC. We are a very giving church and this manifests itself by our helping those less fortunate, be they members or non members.

The Pastoral Care Ministry also is the contact person for mission support and work both at home and around the world.  We work with mission education.  Here at SBC we only take one mission offering a year (Oct. through Dec.) and that is divided between the International Mission Board, the North American Mission Board, SBTC Missions and our own local Mission Discretionary Fund.
