Dr. Mark Estep has been serving as pastor of Spring Baptist Church since January 5, 1997, after being called there in December of 1996.
Before coming to Spring, he spent eight years faithfully serving at First Baptist Church of Nicoma Park, Oklahoma. Over the years, he has also invested in broader ministry work, including serving on the Southern Baptists of Texas Board, as well as previously on the LifeWay Executive Board and the Houston Baptist University Board.
Dr. Estep earned a Bachelor of Science in Psychology from the University of Central Oklahoma in 1985, followed by a Master of Arts in Religious Education in 1989. He later completed his Doctor of Ministry in 2002 through Luther Rice Seminary.
He and his wife, Robin, have dedicated their entire adult lives to ministry. They have three grown children and are the proud grandparents of six grandchildren.
Known for his engaging and relatable teaching style, Dr. Estep has a gift for making Scripture both understandable and applicable to everyday life. He often weaves in humor and personal stories, helping bring the timeless truths of the Bible to life in a way that feels both meaningful and approachable.
